🀄 Mahjong & Munchies: October Game Night
Friday, October 16 | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
đź“Ť Hera Hub Carlsbad
đź”’ HHC Members-Only Event
Our August Mahjong night was such a hit that we are bringing it back again in October with Hera Hub’s resident instructor, Grace Decker!
Mahjong is having a massive moment right now! While American Mahjong uses complex card hands and jokers, Chinese Mahjong features simpler, more traditional rules that are quick to pick up, making it the perfect gateway to this centuries-old game of strategy, skill, and a touch of luck. Whether you’ve never touched a tile or just want to brush up on the basics, Grace will have you calling “Pung!” and “Chow!” in no time.
🍇 Community Charcuterie Board
We are building a group charcuterie board to keep our brainpower fueled! Please bring 1 item to contribute to the table.
- Ideas: Cheeses, cured meats, crackers, fresh veggies, fruits, nuts, or a sweet treat!
- Non-alcoholic beverages are also welcome. (We’ve got wine covered!)
⏰ Event Schedule & Details
- 4:00-4:30pm: First instructional Mahjong round taught by Grace
- 4:30-5:30pm: Snack and Mahjong playtime with Grace available to answer questions
- 5:30-6:00pm: Second instructional Mahjong round taught by Grace as needed for latecomers
- 6:00-7:00pm: Stay as long as you’d like to keep playing!
⚠️ RSVP Required Because we need an accurate count to ensure we have enough Mahjong tile sets and tables structured, RSVPing is strictly required here.
Come to learn, snack, and have fun together—we can’t wait to see you there!
